These are not merely densely patterned symmetrical abstract designs. There is a method to the madness. Folding a square into six congruent triangles and tracing a design based on anything from a doodle, to a name, or even a message in shorthand written backwards and forward creating a symmetrical series of patterns. In color or black and white even a simple curl can turn into a series of complex and unexpected patterns.
